This semi-detached home in Hampton underwent a comprehensive high-performance retrofit focused on improving energy performance, comfort and long-term durability within the existing building envelope.

HONE worked closely with the design and certification team to upgrade the thermal fabric, install triple-glazed windows and integrate a high-performance heat recovery ventilation system. These measures significantly reduce heating and cooling demand while delivering stable internal temperatures and improved indoor air quality year-round.

The reconfigured layout improves daylight access and connection to the garden, using a restrained palette of timber battens and textured finishes to balance the home’s original character with a contemporary, low-energy outcome.

Targeting EnerPHit certification, this project reflects HONE’s commitment to precision construction, material efficiency and retrofit solutions that prioritise performance as well as livability.
