Details

This inner-city alteration and addition in Fitzroy targets Passivhaus Classic certification, integrating high-performance construction with a considered response to the site’s heritage context.

Delivered in partnership with Jane Cameron Architects on a compact 288 m² site, the three-bedroom home prioritises comfort, durability and long-term operational efficiency through careful detailing, airtight construction and robust thermal performance.

Material and waste management formed a deliberate part of delivery. Across demolition, excavation and construction, 91.1% of material by weight was diverted from landfill. Excluding unavoidable hazardous materials, landfill disposal was limited to 2.5%.

The result is a contemporary, low-energy home that sits confidently within Fitzroy’s urban fabric and demonstrates how measured construction practices can support genuinely circular outcomes.
